Size Of Boxes

Small boxes can hold heavier items as the cardboard is thicker and more sturdy. Perfect for books, canned and jarred goods, electronic equipment.Try keeping the weight to about 50 lbs.

Medium boxes are usually the more versatile box. Great for pots and pans, towels and clothes, board games and speakers. Put the heavier items at the bottom of the box. Try keeping the weight to about 30 - 45 lbs.

Large boxes are great for linens, towels, and clothes..lighter, softer items. Think lampshades, comforters, decorative pillows. If the box starts to feel heavy, try splitting the items into multiple boxes.

Label Your Boxes

Try generally labeling the boxes so that it's clear what part of the house they should be moved to (i.e. BR 2; Kitchen; BTH1)

Number Your Boxes

Try numbering your boxes as you pack them to help account for all of your items.

Journal The Contents

Try making a list of the items that you've packed into the boxes/bags. This can help you track exactly what's in each of your boxes. This practice may seem like a lot of work as you go, but can remove some of the stress once you've moved it and are lookign for items.
